Activities & Local Attractions
The North Coast of Cornwall is renowned for its outstanding coastline and sandy beaches, and the Polzeath area has this in abundance. Breathtaking views stretch the coastal footpaths. We are a short walk away from three different beaches. 500 yards away is Polzeath beach, very popular for surfing, be it just riding the waves with a body-board or going all out with a malibu. Polzeath as a village has a few shops, places to hire surf gear, get surf lessons and a couple of food establishments. You might even spot a celeb or two! Beach number 2, in the opposite direction is Daymer Bay, about 700 yards from us. Polar opposite to Polzeath, there are no waves, but just a gentle lapping of the water onto the sand. It’s more of a tranquil atmosphere, where you can just lay back and relax on the soft sand. The more gentle tides, make it a great spot for windsurfing or paddle boarding. And in between the 2, accessible only by the coastal path and about 500 yards away is Greenaway, a rock-pooler’s paradise.

Moving further afield there’s plenty to see and do. Notable towns for daytrips include Port Isaac (Doc Martin country), or Tintagel and Boscastle. Heading south, head to Padstow, where Rick Stein stamps his name in cuisine. Or how about hiring some bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge or further to Bodmin. If walks and hikes are your thing, Cornwall has 570 miles of coastal path to explore. While you’re here, as a leisurely stroll, we recommend the Polzeath to Daymer Bay route, a relatively flat and accessible walk with plenty of benches on the route to admire the view. Feeling fit? Try Port Isaac to Polzeath, that’s a good thigh burner!
